So, as per my post yesterday, camp was fairly unentertaining and a lot of the talk surrounded Welker and his contract and Wilfork looking skinnier. Welker said all the right things, as expected, and from the sounds of it, it doesn't seem like he really ever expected a long term deal. He is taking this the right way and will be taking those 9.4 million reasons to the bank. And the question everyone is now asking is if he will be back next year. Personally, I think it is waaay to early at this point and I don't think anyone knows the answer to this. If we moved on after this year, I wouldn't hate it, but I would hate paying him 8 plus million per year on a multi-year deal as some have suggested we should. As for Wilfork slimming down, I think this shows that they are planning on him continuing to be a 3 down player like he was last year. Slimming down allows him to play the DT position in the 4-3 and sub, as well DE in the 3-4. I think they like Kyle Love at NT in the 3-4 and then they will switch between Love and Jonathan Fanene as the other DT in the 4-3 and sub.
